How does an ionic detox foot bath work?

Electrical current passes through a set of plates in a module called an Array that is immersed in the water inside the foot bath tub. The foot bath water contains a special sea salt, so it has the mineral concentration of water from the ocean. While the client’s feet are in the water, positive and negative ions are emitted by the foot bath system. This re-energizes the body and the red blood cells. It eliminates toxins that are stored in fat, kidneys, liver, bowels, and skin. The foot bath also triggers the body’s lymphatic system, which helps with continuing detoxification for up to 24 to 48 hours after a session.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage.

One of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion in the direction of blood returning to the heart.to help the body improve its circulation.

But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu Massage is an alternative technique that involves manual pressure applied to specific points on the body in an attempt to relieve tension and pain. According to the Japanese healing treatment, Shiatsu (meaning finger pressure) massage uses thumbs, fingers, elbows, and knees to concentrate pressure at certain energy pathways in the body called meridians. The massage also known as acupressure works to reduce muscle tension and fatigue and is thought to improve blood circulation in the body as well as improve function of the lymphatic system.

The theory behind shiatsu is that our bodies are made up of energy, called qi, and that energy gets blocked and causes suffering. Shiatsu massage helps remove the blockages by realigning meridian points, which balances the qi and eases the body and mind. When one balances qi, or vital energy, healing occurs in the body. The nervous and immune systems are both stimulated by applying pressure to the meridians, providing relief for both body and mind. Shiatsu also restores the circulatory system, improving blood flow throughout the body.

The body has twelve meridians, named according to its corresponding organ: lung, large intestine, stomach, spleen, heart, small intestine, bladder, kidney, heart governor, triple heater, gall bladder and liver. The functions of these organs have a broader definition in Eastern medicine.

Polarity Therapy

Polarity Therapy is a mixture of both Eastern and Western energy therapies. It is based on the belief in an electromagnetic energy field that surrounds the body and moves between the poles of the body. Health is experienced when the energy flow is balanced and free of blockages, and pain and disease occur when the energy is not flowing properly. Polarity Therapists balance the energy field through touch, stretching exercises, nutritional advice and self-awareness.

Polarity Therapy is based on the belief that the body is surrounded by the human energy field, through which energy is constantly flowing and moving between the head and feet, or poles, of the body.

The energy flows through energy centers that are based on the Ayurvedic chakras and the Traditional Chinese Medicine principle of yin and yang.

The Human Energy Field is affected by diet, touch, exercise, relationships and life experience. Polarity Therapists are trained to balance these effects through bodywork, yoga exercises, counseling and nutritional advice.

After interviewing you on your lifestyle and medical history, David will evaluate your energy flow through polarity bodywork. This is done by moving his hands from the head to the feet and over the chakras and is done completely clothed. He will then apply differing amounts of pressure to the body to stimulate and balance energy flow.

Enhance Your Massage with a Hot Stone Add-On just $10

A hot stone massage involves the use of smooth, heated stones for deep relaxation and easing muscle tension. They were first used by Native Americans to treat aching muscles and are widely used today by many massage practitioners.

The heat from the hot stones allows your therapist to access deeper layers of muscle, which provides a very effective healing experience when coupled with a normal full body massage. The hot stones also expand blood vessels, which encourages circulation and rids muscles of metabolic waste. Hot stones can also relieve chronic pain, reduce stress, promote deep relaxation, and increase flexibility in joints. Add some hot stones to your massage routine to experience a higher level of relaxation that you ever thought was possible.
